Bell Plant adds to X Series fleet with 21-machine JCB order
Bell Plant Ltd has reinforced its long-standing partnership with JCB by placing an order for 21 new X Series tracked excavators.
A JCB customer for more than four decades, the Gloucestershire-based company has invested in the latest machines for use on civil engineering and groundworks projects across Bell Contracting and Bell Homes developments.
Supplied by Holt JCB, the order includes a mix of JCB 140X and 220X excavators, adding to Bell Plant’s existing fleet of around 100 JCB machines. The handover took place at JCB’s World Headquarters, where KW Bell Group Managing Director Peter Bell was presented with a signed commemorative picture from Lord Bamford in recognition of the company’s decades of loyalty to the brand.
Four generations of the Bell family have been involved in the business over its 40-year history, with Peter Bell now working alongside his daughters Nicola and Natalie, and granddaughter Amelia.
Peter Bell said: “Receiving the personal gift meant everything. I was really taken a back and it brought a few tears to the eyes. It’s the fact that he took that personal time to handwrite the note that goes to show Lord Bamford and JCB value the other family businesses and that we all support each other. It’s an amazing honour.
“The dealership relationship is one of the main reasons we buy JCB as the support they give us is very important as well as the reliability of the machines and the fact that JCB is British. Customer care is at the top of their list - we can’t fault Holt JCB.
“We know how good the X Series is from our history with the machine dating back to the first 220X models when they were launched. It comes down to the performance, efficiency and the reliability of the machine and they’ve got a great track record.”
Bell Plant is part of the KW Bell Group, which was founded by Keith Bell in 1965. Based in Cinderford, in the Forest of Dean, the business has built more than 800 homes across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Wales over the past two decades.
