Bobcat’s excavator offerings just got bigger
Hot on the heels of the 15-tonne class E145 which was launched in September last year, Bobcat has extended its excavator range with another Korean built machine, which is aimed at more heavy digging applications on commercial and residential developments sites.
Now let’s not beat around the bush here, the machine is obviously a Doosan DX180LC-5 in the white Bobcat livery and a few stickers, but for the many American Bobcat faithful, they would probably prefer to stick with the one manufacturer, so by providing the customers with this larger machine it gives them the option to stick with the famous American brand, now owned by the Korean's.
The conventional tail-swing machine is powered by a Perkins diesel engine which is Tier 4 emissions compliant and offers a power output rating of 97.7kw (131hp) @2000rpm. The machine also features four selectable power modes and anyone that has spent time in the seat of a Doosan will be up to speed on those, as they will about the power boost button on the right-hand joystick which provides a burst of extra digging power in a hard dig situation.
The machine has a maximum reach of 8.8 m at ground level and a maximum dig depth of 8.7m. while bucket digging force is rated at 114,737 N.
As mentioned previously the machine is available in the North American market now, but Bobcat have not made any comment about when or if it will become available in other markets around the world.
