CASE Rolls Out the SV Series

As it happens this week, I will be writing up my report for Earthmovers Magazine, on the exclusive test drive opportunity I had to try out two models from the latest range, but focusing on the largest, the 695SV.

But I could not let this event pass without posting something about it here on the Digger Man Blog, so here are some brief details on what’s on offer with these new machines.

The new range consists of three models: 580SV, 590SV and 695SV with outputs ranging from 96 to 110hp.

The most notable feature for me was the wider and extremely spacious cab which is easier to access and provides far greater clearance for the operator’s legs when rotating the seat between forward facing and rear facing configuration.

Also included is a relocated parking brake, new speedometer option, regrouped switches on the right-hand console, new integrated F-N-R switch in the loader control lever on the Power Shift model, new joystick roller switch for extending dipper operation and relocated stabiliser levers.

New rear side flat glass further enhances visibility and is cheaper to replace in the event of damage. Additional safety features include a 3db in-cab noise reduction to 74db, compared to the previous model, and a relocated horn switch that is easier to reach.

The FPT 3.6-litre engine’s High Efficiency SCR2 (Hi-eSCR2) aftertreatment system is said to be maintenance-free for the first 8,000 hours, and when teamed with the new Eco mode, contributes to 10% lower fuel consumption. Oil changes are now set at 500-hour interval; a new variable volume pump only provides oil when needed, helping to further reduce operating costs.

Just hours after the official launch event, my colleagues at the Construction Collective, Mark Anthony and Peter Haddock, held a live online event to discuss the new Case SV range, where they were joined by Crispin Turner and Hayden Bale of Case Construction Equipment UK, and if you missed it, you can view the recorded full length show below.

Lookout for my full in-depth report in the next edition of Earthmovers, but in the meantime checkout my video from the test drive day.
