CAT and the NHL, a Winning Combination!
As a young man, when I wasn’t working driving diggers, I was more often than not at my then local ice rink in Southampton, training for ice hockey, playing matches or enjoying the social scene that is all part of a general skating session.
Even during the long summer months when ice was not readily available for hockey training, we would improvise and put in the graft playing street hockey wherever we could find somewhere to set up.
In line with the message in the video below, there’s ‘No Off-Season’ when you want to become the best at whatever you are doing. And quite often its all about the hard slog you put in, physically and mentally, behind closed doors away from prying eyes that pays dividends when the season comes around.
But behind the serious message, I just loved this NHL inspired video with the Cat mini excavators on the ice, fitted with oversize hockey stick attachments, passing the puck around and shooting on the net.
Maybe one day I will get to replicate this scene on a UK hockey arena as an entertaining period interval challenge event, I think the idea could have wheels… or in this instance tracks!
