Diggers, Sunshine and Pasties!

The weather gods were definitely looking down on the Machineserve team on this occasion, as the yard and working areas were bathed in delightful spring sunshine for the entire 3 days of the event. Hardcore local visitors will know that previous events have suffered with rain and showers, but it never puts the visitors off, who are determined to check out what’s new in the dealer’s portfolio of products.

Big things are happening at Machineserve with a new building and workshop nearing completion, and continued additions to the line up of products. Since the demise of the Hanix range of machines, Machineserve have become dealers for the Yanmar range of construction equipment, which are now sporting a stunning new red livery, which I think looks fantastic.

One of these new machines, in the form of a 2.6-tonne SV26 was up on the demo mound, being demonstrated using the Australian manufactured Digga auger drill. This example was the PD 3 suitable for excavators from 2-tonne – 5-tonne and featured the new Halo drilling alignment system which gives a visual light display so the operator can ensure a straight and true bore is achieved.

Examples from Yanmar’s popular Vio range of zero tailswing mini and midi excavators were also on static display, including the 5-tonne class Vio50 and the 6-tonne class Vio57 which tips the scales at 5505kgs and offers a dig depth ranging from 3900 – 4185mm depending on boom/stick combination.

Tracked mini dumpers continue to be popular across increasingly wet UK sites, and Machineserve displayed a number of examples including the Yanmar C30R, a 2500kg payload machine with a swivel skip and 180o rotating operator’s seat, so they can always be facing the right way for the application they are working on.

Machineserve have also recently been appointed as the dealers for Yanmar’s compact tractor range, and displayed a couple of examples including the YT235 a small compact tractor suitable for golf course green keeping and parkland work etc.

Also displayed was a larger YT347 which was fitted with front loader arms and general-purpose bucket and a rear mounted Teagle grass topper.

Wheeled and tracked pedestrian mini dumpers from German manufacturer Lumag were also on static display.

Adding to the international array of products were the Italian manufactured Ghedini flail mowers which were being displayed inside what was the old workshop.

Away across the field Machineserve’s managing director Phil Davey was demonstrating the Digga Big Foot trencher mounted on a traditional yellow Vio57 midi excavator, to a group of visitors. The trencher has an adjustable “skid foot/pad” for pre-set depths of 600mm, 750mm and 900mm.

To support its excavator sales Machineserve is also selling buckets and attachments from British firm JB Equipment one example being this hydraulic selector grab.

We would like to thank Phil for inviting us a long for the day, and for our complimentary pasty and coffee, which were very much enjoyed. Checkout our highlights video from the day below.
