GAP Group offers machine control system hire

GAP Group, the largest independent hire company in the UK, is delighted to join forces with Sitech UK & Ireland, forming a unique partnership in the survey industry. The Survey & Safety division at GAP has full national coverage, with 14 stand-alone depots offering repair and calibration services at locations throughout the UK. This specialist division has recently formed a new Technical Services unit which will initially offer Machine Control Services and later move into HD Scanner and Monitoring Solutions.

Modern projects, now more than ever, need the contractor to be able to flexibly handle information and data between the site and office with fast accessibility and a smooth data transfer. GAP has noticed a definite upturn in the demand for machine control products which has primarily been driven by some of the major projects and contractors in the UK, many of which GAP is a supplier for.

In addition to the geospatial survey equipment GAP currently supplies, such as robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS network rovers, customers are now able to come to GAP for the complete machine control solution. GAP and Sitech’s solution offers customers hire, support and service on the Trimble machine control product range. This partnership between the two companies makes GAP the first authorised rental partner for Sitech throughout the UK.

Sitech UK & Ireland is a provider of Trimble Construction Technology to Civil Engineering, Construction, Mining and Material Processing organisations, specialising in machine control systems and site positional systems. Working with Sitch will allow GAP’s Technical Services team to offer its customer base Trimble civil and construction products, with a full service of installation, operator training and repairs.
