Hyundai complete electric forklift range
Hyundai Material Handling has completed its B-X high-voltage electric forklift range with the introduction of five models covering capacities from 10 to 18 tonnes.
The new 100B-X, 120B-X and 130B-X LC600 models, together with the 160B-X and 180B-X LC600, extend Hyundai’s electric counterbalance forklift offering into heavier-duty applications traditionally served by diesel machines. The B-X range was introduced in stages, beginning with the 4–9-tonne models in 2025. The latest additions complete the range, giving Hyundai a high-voltage electric forklift offering spanning 4–18 tonnes.
High-voltage power
The larger B-X models use a 618V electrical system, compared with approximately 309–348V across the 4–9-tonne machines. Hyundai says the higher voltage allows the trucks to deliver the power required for intensive handling while reducing electrical current and associated heat generation.
The heavier models are aimed at applications including ports, shipbuilding, timber processing, metal production, construction materials, manufacturing and logistics, where forklifts can be required to operate outdoors for extended periods. Hyundai has used established chassis and mast designs alongside dedicated electric drivetrains, battery systems and control technology. Key components are protected to IP67, while selected electronic systems achieve IP69K protection. The battery system features liquid cooling, thermal management and integrated heating to maintain operating temperatures across a wide range of conditions. The trucks have also undergone water-spray, flooding and cold-climate endurance testing.
Hyundai uses water-cooled permanent magnet motors and says the B-X models are designed to provide travel and lift speeds, as well as gradeability, comparable with diesel-powered equivalents. The high-voltage architecture also supports fast charging and extended operating times, allowing the trucks to be used in multi-shift applications where suitable charging infrastructure is available.
Raymond Galavazi, Senior Product Manager at Hyundai Material Handling Europe, said: “Completing the B-X range means that electrification is no longer limited to the lower-capacity forklift segments. Customers across a wide range of industries can now consider high-voltage electric trucks from 4-18 tonnes, also for demanding outdoor applications where high capacity and intensive operation are required.”
