JCB in elephant rescue

A video has emerged from India, which captured the moment an elephant calf was rescued from a well by a JCB backhoe loader. It’s believed the animal fell down the hole whilst travelling across a field with its herd. Luckily, the baby elephant managed to attract the attention of locals using its trunk.

The rescue operation took several hours of digging, as workers carved a gentle slope out of the earth, eventually allowing the elephant to climb out of the well. Once free, it headed for the nearby forest along with the rest of the herd, which had been waiting anxiously nearby. Watch the video below (credit: Metro).
