JCB TM420 is the perfect mix for base concrete
Working in a compact concrete yard demands the right combination of size, reach and performance - something Base Concrete has found in its latest JCB TM420 wheeled loader.
Supplied by Greenshields JCB, the Hemel Hempstead-based company has reinforced its fleet with the purchase of a second TM420 to support loading operations in its busy yard.
The machine is used to load lorries with materials including sand, cement and aggregates, helping to keep the company’s mobile batching operation running efficiently.
Base Concrete Director Paul MacGregor said: “We tested a few machines to ensure we chose the right solution. We have a small yard, so anything too big can’t operate or anything too small would have to do extra runs. JCB TM420 proved to be the perfect mix of speed of loading, bucket size and manoeuvrability.
“We use it predominantly for loading the lorries which hold the materials: sandstone, cement and water, so they essentially become mobile batching plants. It has just the right size bucket to be able to load the trucks quickly enough and the extension of the boom is perfect for us. When it comes to concrete applications, it’s simply the right machine for the job.”
Established in 2002, Base Concrete supplies ready-mixed concrete to trade and DIY customers across Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding area. The company operates an all-JCB fleet, including a Loadall telescopic handler, mini excavator and generator.
