JCB’s 245XR Making a Big Impact Around the World!

Since its quite low profile launch last year, JCB’s reduced radius 245XR has rapidly been gaining friends around the world, and to be honest, that doesn’t surprise me in the slightest, in my opinion and from end users I have spoken to they really have cracked it with this model, which just continues to carry on the success of the whole X-Series range, which have really put JCB back in the mix for hydraulic excavators.

Brimming with leading blue-chip components, from the likes of Kawasaki, Kayaba and Bonfiglioli, the machine is powered by the well proven JCB built 173hp (129kw) Ecomax Stage 4 Final emissions compliant 4-cylinder, 4.8 litre powerpack. The unit as revealed at the launch of the X-Series range back in 2018 features a number of tweaks which includes savings in fuel consumption of up to 15%.

One of the most interesting points with this machine, is that the cab is still the full Command Plus version that is fitted to the conventional tail X-Series models, unlike many other manufacturers, where historically there has always been a compromise in terms of cab space on compact and zero tail machines, and I think that aspect is very appealing to the operators who spend many hours in the cab.

Anyway, while trawling the internet over the weekend I came across this cracking video featuring the 245XR from the guys at German based Z&P Baumaschinen who are dealers for new and used construction equipment, and which I felt was too good not to share!
