Komatsu PC950-11 and PC138US-11

Komatsu’s new PC950-11 hydraulic excavator has made its European debut at the bauma 2022 international fair in Munich. Tipping the scales at over 95 tonnes, the PC950-11 incorporates the latest Komatsu engine, hydraulic, and control technologies to deliver productivity levels approaching 50% more, and fuel efficiency increases of 40% higher, than the PC800-8 that it replaces.

The fully integrated KomVision driver-assist system eliminates blind spots by providing the operator with a real-time view of the machine’s immediate surroundings, minimising the risk of job site incidents. Catwalks on both sides of the machine offer simple, safe maintenance. Meanwhile, the latest Komtrax telematics, and the Komatsu Care maintenance program for customers, offer highest levels of fleet management and support, protect the machine against misuse and boost efficiency and uptime.

The PC950-11 offers three selectable modes – Economy, Power and all-new Power Plus – to maximise performance from the new Komatsu 405kW EU Stage 5-compliant engine. Reduced cycle times coupled with large capacity buckets boost productivity by up to 48% compared to PC800-8.

The next stage
Speaking of emissions, Komatsu's PC138US-11 excavator (pictured above) is now Stage 5-compliant. The 97.3kW machine was also presented at bauma 2022 this week and weighs in at 13.9 to 14.8 tonnes. Bucket capacity is 0.72m3 and maximum digging depth 5.9m.

Technical highlights include a Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), a KomVision fourth camera as an option, extending the field of view for enhanced safety, and also Komatsu Care, an aftertreatment system included in the Komatsu Care product support package.
