L Lynch takes delivery of Volvo ECR25 Electric

L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage is the first UK plant hire company to take delivery of a 3-tonne Volvo ECR25 Electric excavator, with further machines arriving this summer. Lynch trialled the Volvo ECR25 across three sites, to showcase the benefits of the machine, such as cleaner air and reduced noise pollution, which resulted in positive feedback from operators and customers.

The fully electric design means that there are zero emissions around the machine, and the noise pollution is greatly reduced. There are lower vibrations when the machine is working, too. The machine features a maintenance free battery and a fast-charging option. The ECR25 Electric is also a zero-tail swing, making it suitable for working in confined spaces.

Chris Gill, Director at L Lynch said, “We are proud to be the first plant hire company in the UK to be running this size electric machine, and we look forward to seeing them on our customer job sites, creating great output with zero emissions.

“We are focused on our sustainability plan and our carbon footprint as a business. We spoke ot SMT GB in 2020 and as soon as we knew these products were available, we expressed interest in trialling them. We received factastic feedback from operators and customers on the three separate trials we carried out. To place multiple machine orders with SMT GB makes complete sense.”
