Let’s Recycle gets us back on the Show Circuit (Part Two)

It was great to catch up with James Walker and the team at Staffordshire based Abiljo Excavator Services, who were displaying a vast range of buckets and attachments from their portfolio of UK manufactured products.

Also on display was the stunning all-electric Kovaco Elise 900 skid steer which we had the pleasure of test driving for an exclusive report in Earthmovers earlier this year.

According to Kovaco UK’s Finlay Bassett, since we last caught up interest in the machines has been phenomenal. He discusses the latest developments with Peter Haddock in this interview hosted on the Abiljo stand.

It was also great to see Hitachi Construction Machinery UK attending the show, and they brought along two fine examples from the new Dash-7 range of hydraulic excavators. The Zaxis 225USLC and a Zaxis 300LC which was sporting Tru Plant livery.

Also making the trip down from the North East was MST Parts Group, who are providers of tracks, wear parts, buckets and repairs, for machines ranging from the smallest mini excavator right up to some of the largest mining machines in the world.

MST has also recently been appointed as the sole authorised supplier of VIBY High Tip Buckets in the UK. Danish manufactured VIBY High Tip buckets are well proven and of high quality, offering strong durability and superior performance.

MST Managing Director Rory Whitehall talked to Peter Haddock to discuss the latest developments with the business including the VIBY appointment.

Indoors JCB presented a couple of machines including a the electric powered 35-22E Teletruk, one of the products from the company’s range of E-TECH machines which offer zero emissions at point of use, with no loss of performance. The machine offers a maximum lift capacity of 3,500kgs, with a maximum lift height of 4.0m, while lift capacity at 2m reach is 2,200kgs.

Also on display was the JCB Loadall painted in the stunning colours of the Aston Martin Cognizant formula one team which JCB are sponsoring.

Meanwhile out on the demo area JCB demonstrated a number of machines including the 457 Wastemaster wheeled loader, specially configured for the waste and recycling sector with an Ulrich high tip bucket and solid tyres. This machine features a Stage 5 emissions compliant 210kw (282hp) diesel engine from Cummins, but can also run on HVO.

To find out more about these machines Peter Haddock spoke to JCB's Dean Bates.

All in all, this show was a great way to make a start on the road back to some form of normality on the show circuit once again, and after such a long enforced shutdown of such events, it was great to be back at one for me personally. We are still in uncertain times, but at least we can start to look forward with some positivity at least.
