Liebherr Heavyweights Guaranteed at Hillhead
One manufacturer who always brings a good selection of large excavators to the Hillhead show, are our friends over at Liebherr. Its not uncommon for them to present excavators in the 60-70-tonne class range at the event in the famous Buxton quarry.

Like many major manufacturers, Liebherr have been developing their expertise in electric crawler excavators for many years and a recent development has seen the introduction of the zero-emission R 976-E and R 980 SME-E models to replace the ER 974 B for quarry extraction.
I for one will be excited to see what Liebherr display at this year’s event and of course at the massive Bauma Trade Fair in October, we have all waited so long for the return of live events and its great to see them coming back!
As an appetizer, I came across this video from Liebherr featuring an R 970 SME conventional diesel-powered engine at work excavating and loading rock in a quarry application in Auvergne in the French Alps.
