McGovern Plant Hire invests in Hitachi machines

McGovern Plant Hire has invested in Hitachi Construction Machinery with machines ranging from ZX33U-6s up to ZX225US-7s equipped with HCMUK’s mixed fleet telematics system CTFleet Link and Xwatch, which have been supplied and installed through Hitachi Connected Technology. McGovern Plant Hire began as H McGovern back in 1984 when founder Hugh McGovern purchased his first machine. In 1997, it grew into H McGovern & Son Plant Hire when Hugh’s son John joined the business. Since then, the company has grown tenfold over the last 20 years. The company supplies a range of operated and self-drive plant to firms and projects all over the UK.

Stephen Creaser, Director of Product Support at HCMUK commented, “HCMUK are delighted to be maintaining the long-standing relationship with the team at McGovern Plant Hire following their ongoing commitment to Hitachi with this latest machine order. We have worked closely with Shane to ensure that HCMUK provide our market leading machinery paired with our industry leading telematics system CTFleet Link.

"The confidence in CTFleet Link has ensured that every machine delivered to McGovern Plant Hire by HCMUK is fitted with our CTFleet hardware, giving Shane and his team real time operational data from all their Hitachi equipment,” Stephen continued. “The real time data generated in CTFleet Link gives them the ability to closely monitor the performance of their machines to ensure maximum efficiency can be achieved.”

Established partnership
Shane Sherbourne, Managing Director at McGovern Plant Hire commented, “Having worked closely alongside Hitachi Construction Machinery UK for the last three and a hald years, I am fully aware of the capabilities they can provide. It was a blessing for me when I arrived at McGovern Plant Hire to see they already had an established relationship with HCMUK and have been using them as their trusted supplier for many years.

"Our long term development plan over the next 12 to 18 months ensures Hitachi remain our main machine provider, allowing us to continue offering our customers the highest quality of machinery, the most advanced technology with the add on of CTFleet Link to our new fleet, and unrivalled reliability from the machines we have had delivered all the way up to the back up support that’s offered in the after sales field,” Shane added.

“We have already ordered more machinery for January 2024 which will see our fleet rise by an additional 40 excavators in various sizes across the board, a range of heightened safety systems and multiple specifications of machines. I thank everyone at HCMUK for their continued support and I am sure our relationship will continue to thrive for many years to come,” Shane said.
