Merry Christmas from the Digger Man Blog 2023

It’s been a tough old year economically for many, and we are all feeling the pinch, but fortunately here at the Digger Man Blog we have managed to remain very busy, and I expect it to be much the same next year. Personally, I have lots of things in the pipeline with my regular work with Earthmovers Magazine, in addition to solo projects and collaborations with industry friends, so there is much to look forward to in 2024.
This year it was great to get back to travelling abroad once again, starting with Conexpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas, where I was working with a number of brands including LiuGong, ALLU, ROKBAK, and Develon to name a few.
That was followed in April with yet another visit to my favourite country in the world, Finland, with my friends at Koneporssi for the Mansen Mörinät event.
May saw another visit to the team at Bobcat in Dobris, Czech Republic, to see some of the latest innovations from the famous brand. Closely followed on my return with a visit to Thame in Oxfordshire for the launch event of the Kubota KX085-5 midi excavator.
In June we were blessed with wall-to-wall sunshine for the entire duration of Plantworx, almost unheard of but very much appreciated for what was a fantastic event. Also in June, we attended the Molson Open Days event, this was my first time at this one and I was super impressed by the whole set-up.
August saw me back in Finland to visit the Maxpo Show in Hyvinkaa, another favourite of mine, however this time it was not blessed with great weather, with rain during the whole event.
In October we had a flying visit to the European headquarters of Sunward in Tessenderlo in Belgium, another very interesting visit with more to come in the future, I am sure.
We wrapped up our overseas visits with a trip to Stuttgart in Germany to visit the premises of Holp GmbH, which will be featured in the next edition of Earthmovers in the shops on January the 5th. We must not forget either, hundreds of site visits in the UK to machinery end users who are so often the backbone of my content for the magazine and social media platforms.
So that’s it from the Digger Man Blog for 2023, although I will still be posting some content on our social media channels as and when I can. I would just like to thank everyone who has continued to follow us, when there are so many different platforms to choose from these days.
All that remains is to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and to say that we will be back in action here on January 3rd.
