MKM enters hire market with JCB partnership

MKM, one of the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchants, has invested in a fleet of JCB equipment in a new partnership that will see ‘MKM Hire’ officially launched at five MKM branches across the UK – Norwich, Perth, Bromsgrove, Lincoln North, and Manchester Central. Following a successful launch, MKM plans to roll out this new service nationwide.

Kate Tinsley, MKM’s CEO said, “Our ethos at MKM has always been about giving our customers what they want and need, which is why we are constantly looking at ways we can develop and enhance the service we provide our customers. Entering the hire market is a fantastic evolution for the business and we are delighted to be working in partnership with TC Harrison JCB.”

The launch of MKM Hire is another major milestone on MKM’s journey – the company recently celebrated its 100th branch opening. “Introducing MKM Hire perfectly complements the extensive range of building materials we supply the market and it’s what our customers have been asking for,” continued Kate. “I am really proud of everyone involved that has helped us launch MKM Hire and I am looking forward to developing this proposition further in the future.”

MKM’s initial order will see TC Harrison JCB supply over 80 JCB machines, along with a range of power tools, which will be available for hire at Norwich, Perth, Bromsgrove, Lincoln North, and Manchester Central. Deliveries have commenced on the order, which includes micro-excavators, mini-excavators, tracked dumpers, 1-tonne site dumpers and hydraulic breakers.

Pete Braybrook, Sales Director at TC Harrison JCB commented, “We are delighted to be supplying machines and support to MKM, a business that shares the same values as us. This is a really exciting partnership and we are looking forward to supporting MKM and helping MKM Hire become a huge success.”
