Poclain’s first hydraulic excavator was of course the model TU which first appeared in 1951, it was firstly designed to be towed by tractors and was powered by the tractors power take-off, before eventually being equipped with its own power pack and driveline as a 3-wheeler.

In 1958 the company produced this more advanced version the model TYA, this was the forerunner of the TY45 with which the company had phenomenal success with in terms of global sales.

It wasn’t all Poclain at this event, nor was it all excavators, in fact there was a wide selection of classic bulldozers on display too, including this Bondy 6 100-120 CV model.

This Bondy 6 example was a 1950 model and is extremely rare as not many were built, as I understand it, they were originally Russian built machines. It was powered by a 14.82 litre, 120hp Hesselman diesel engine. This example was discovered overgrown, and with a seized engine in Niort in France and the owner has done an amazing job in restoring it to her former glory.

Another stunning restoration dozer is this Richard Continental CD10 D, baring a striking resemblance to the International TD25, when it was first launched in 1962, it was the largest bulldozer manufactured in Europe. This example was a 1970 model and was one of the last built by the company. Power came from a 21.2 litre 300hp V8 Baudouin engine.

Another rare machine is this Choc hydraulic excavator, these machines were only produced in small quantities for a production run of two years, this example was built in 1960 and was discovered lying in Switzerland in 2014. It has been immaculately restored by its current owner.

Choc eventually sold its technical files to the German manufacturer Wesserhütte.

Finally, a great shot of the restored French built Nordest SD 40 rope controlled excavator working on the demo area.
