New asphalt shredders from FAE

FAE is expanding its Construction line with a new series of products dedicated to road construction: the new asphalt shredders RPL/SSL, RPM/SSL and RWM/SSL for skid steers. A new segment and a new field of application of FAE’s technology that offers customers a wider choice of solutions that better meet their professional needs.

FAE's new road planers are based on ‘cold planer’ technology. The road’s surface is scraped and cut by the impact of special teeth that are attached to the rotor with a layout that is specifically designed by FAE to increase performance and reduce vibration. The fields of application of the RPL/SSL and RPM/SSL are surface preparation for resurfacing roads in anticipation of a new layer of asphalt or concrete, or to simplify excavation operations. The RWM/SSL model, equipped with a disc rotor, aims to ensure extremely targeted excavations for laying electrical, water, gas and fiber optic conduits.

The RPL/SSL, compatible with skid steers from 60 to 120hp, can mill up to 7 inches deep and is available in three widths 45, 60 and 75cm. The RPM/SSL, for skid steers between 75 and 120hp, is capable of working areas of up to 10 inches deep and 24 inches wide. Both heads are standard equipped with state-of-the-art technical features. The combination of self-leveling skids and tilt ensures optimal results, also on uneven surfaces.

Operational precision is said to be ensured by the hydraulic drive system as well as practical depth and cutting indicators. The operator’s work is also facilitated by the high-visibility design that allows optimal visual contact from the cab. The standard hydraulic and electrical setups and equipment of the RPL/SSL and RPM/SSL make them ideal for plug and play pairing with the leading skid steers on the market. The line is completed with teeth that are specifically designed for asphalt and cemented road surfaces.

The RWM/SSL is compatible with skid steers from 75 to 120hp and can create channels up to 20 inches deep with modular widths of 3, 4 or 5 inches. The depth indicator allows precise depth management and the self-leveling penetration skids allow to always keep the working depth constant. The optimized side output allows the track to be free of waste materials at all times. The hydraulic and electrical setups and equipment of the RWM/SSL also make it ideal for plug and play pairing with the leading skid steers on the market. The line also includes teeth that are specifically designed for asphalt road surfaces or for working on concrete.

With these new products, FAE has enhanced its offerings for the Construction world, an increasingly important sector in which FAE technology and solidity wants to make more and more of a difference. The new ranges will be available in 2023.
