New Cat 352, 374 and 395 large excavators

Caterpillar has launched three new Next Generation large excavators in Europe: the Cat 352, 374 and 395. Built in Xuzhou, China at Cat’s largest hydraulic excavator factory, the new diggers are equipped with powerful Stage 5 engines, feature reinforced structures to cope increased machine performance, and pack in more assistance systems to raise the games of even lower skilled operators whilst boosting safety.

The new Cat 352 weighs in at 50.1 tonnes and is equipped with a 425hp Cat C13 engine. Taking over from the 352F, it features a variable gauge undercarriage, has a maximum digging depth of 7.06m, a reach at ground level of 11.29m and a maximum loading height of 7.4m (figures for 6.9m boom and 2.9m stick). For steep slope work, the new Long Reach configuration will reach out to 19.6m and dig down to 13.04m. Standard waterproof technology provides precision excavation down to 4.5m and the optional submarine solution allows you to work down to 20m.

Caterpillar’s new 374 weighs 71.7 tonnes and is powered by a 485hp Cat C15 engine. It has a maximum digging depth of 8.57m, a maximum reach at ground level of 13.16m and a maximum loading height of 8.43m. Finally, the new Cat 395 has an operating weight of 94 tonnes and is powered by a 543hp Cat C18 engine. Its key stats are a digging depth of up to 9.67m, a maximum reach at ground level of 14.71m and a maximum loading height of 9.25m.

Standard equipment on all machines includes Cat Payload (on-the-go bucket weighing), Cat Grade with 2D visual guidance, Lift Assist (monitors machine stability), E-Fence (prevents the excavator from moving outside operator-defined points), rear and side-view cameras (360-degree optional), Smart Mode (matches engine and hydraulic power to workload, saving fuel), a 10-inch touchscreen display in the cab and programmable joysticks. Maintenance wise, filter life has been doubled, access points moved lower to the ground, and service intervals increased.
