New Cat 963 Track Loader

Caterpillar has revealed a versatile new track loader. The 963 model is 10% more efficient than its predecessor, and meets Stage 5 emissions standards. Its Cat C7.1 engine produces 202hp and 15% more torque than the outgoing model.

Replacing the 963K, the Cat 963 Track Loader has an operating weight of 20,358kg and its General Purpose bucket can hold 2.5 cubic metres of material; the Performance Series bucket can hold 2.8 cubic metres. Purpose-built Low Ground Pressure (LGP) and Waste Handling machines are factory equipped with specialized undercarriage, guarding and other features designed to take on the toughest tasks.

Inside, operators are treated to a suspension seat with adjustable armrests and controls. There’s a 10-inch touchscreen display too, which is linked to a rear-view camera. Meanwhile, the Slope Indicate fetaure helps make operation easier by showing machine mainfall and cross slope right on the display. The joystick option provides familiar controls for operators experienced with skid steers/compact track loaders. Or choose the more traditional V-lever/foot pedal controls. With either control scheme, operators can set implement response – fine, normal, coarse – to match operator preference or application. Smoother implement and steering response, and improved steering performance provide more controllability. Cat Link telematics technology is also part of the new 963 package.
