New earthmoving book
Following the success of his other 4 books, in his ‘Earthmovers In series’, David Wylie is now in the final stages of publishing his new book: Earthmovers in Classic Mining Machines. This new publication will bring more interesting mining machines and related site visits to life. Contained within, are arguably some of the biggest, best and historically significant pieces of earthmoving equipment ever produced. Covering mining class hydraulic and rope shovels, haul trucks and massive mining dozers – past and present!
Earthmovers in Classic Mining Machines brings together David’s in-depth reports that capture all the interesting history of the machines, operational site details, company history, operators, managers and owners’ views on operating these powerful machines. His book will feature some of the largest earthmovers from around the world, such as a massive O&K RH400 weighing over 950tonnes. The legendry O&K RH120C, 520-tonne O&K RH200s and the world’s biggest hydraulic excavator, the 1000t class Cat 6090 FS face shovel. The evolution of the Liebherr Mining R996 to the new R 9600, Komatsu D575A super dozer, the Cat 789 hauler, the original Cat D10 Hi-Drive dozer, P&H 4100 series rope shovels and LeTourneau’s L700 to the L2350 monster wheel loaders…to name but a few!
This new publication will contain over 400 stunning photographs take pride of place across 18 highly detailed chapters - some very rare photographs that never been published before – and many historically important images. These images have been carefully selected and composed to capture the history, development, raw power and performance of each machine. Over 80 high-quality photographs are presented across double pages to help you get close to the action.
