New industry awards from the CEA for 2027

The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) has announced the launch of the CEA Awards 2027, a new industry awards programme recognising achievement across the construction equipment sector.

The inaugural awards will be held on the evening of Wednesday 23 June 2027 at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham, during the second day of Plantworx 2027. Taking place in the venue’s Britannia Suite, the CEA Awards will build on the established Plantworx Innovation Awards, while widening the scope to recognise achievement across the wider industry. The awards will continue to be held in association with Plantworx, bringing exhibitors, CEA members and the wider construction equipment community together away from the show floor to celebrate the people, companies, products and achievements driving the sector forward.

Plantworx 2027 runs from 22–24 June at the NEC Birmingham, bringing together construction equipment manufacturers, suppliers, plant hirers, contractors, operators and technology businesses for three days of machinery, live demonstrations, new product launches and industry networking. Holding the awards on the second evening of the show will allow visitors and exhibitors already in Birmingham to continue discussions from the show floor in a dedicated evening setting. The National Conference Centre, located at the National Motorcycle Museum, will provide the setting for the inaugural event. Its Britannia Suite is one of the venue’s largest event spaces, giving the CEA scope to develop the awards into a major industry occasion.

“The Plantworx Innovation Awards have given us a fantastic platform to recognise new products, ideas and technologies, but there is so much more happening across our industry that deserves recognition. The CEA Awards give us the opportunity to broaden that spotlight and celebrate the companies, teams and individuals making a real difference across the construction equipment sector. Holding the awards during Plantworx makes complete sense. Much of the industry will already be together in Birmingham, and the National Conference Centre gives us a venue where we can create a really special evening in its own right. This is the first CEA Awards, and we want to build an event that the industry genuinely looks forward to being part of.”

The launch marks a new chapter for the CEA’s awards programme, while retaining its established association with Plantworx. Further details on award categories, entry criteria, judging, sponsorship opportunities and tickets will be announced in the coming months.
