New training simulator by CM Labs

Simulation specialist CM Labs has launched the Vortex Edge Max, a new training tool allowing operators to develop new skills in a safe and controlled environment, and help organisations bridge the skills gap. The Vortex Edge Max is the latest simulator in CM Labs’ Edge series of award-winning training products, and is positioned as an entry-level tool that develops transferable operator skills. The affordability of the Vortex Edge Max expands professional-grade simulation to contractors and training organisations that did not previously have access to these tools.

CM’s Vortex Edge Max replicates the motion and feel of real construction equipment and comes with CM Labs’ Smart Training Technology. Operators can try a variety of cranes and earthmoving machines, and the simulator’s sturdy controls with further help users get used to operating the real thing. The screen even rotates to provide an optimal field of view for every piece of equipment. Impressively, the Vortex Edge Max logs key performance metrics, so operators learn productive machine use. Self-guided learning paths — from beginner to advanced — mean operators can train even when equipment or trainers are unavailable. Trainees can learn to operate equipment and practice challenging real-world scenarios, with no risk to equipment or themselves. In addition, the Vortex Edge Max can connect to other simulators for tandem operations and crew training.
