On the CASE with a Big Compact For SHC

Joe who is a big fan of the Japanese Sumitomo inspired CASE excavators and has been operating CX210D models on the firm previously. Joe has more recently led the way with what is currently the only tiltrotator on the firm which was fitted to his 21-tonner back in 2019.

That Rototilt R6 “tilty” is now starting life on its second machine having been transferred to his brand-new CASE CX245DSR which has been supplied by local dealer M&M Plant Sales, looks stunning with the SHC blue and white livery, especially on the counterweight with the chevrons.

The CX245SR in this configuration with mono boom and dozer blade, weighs in at around 26-tonnes and is powered by a 4-cylinder Stage 5 emissions compliant Isuzu VD-4HK1X diesel engine which offers a power output rating of 124kw (166hp) @1800 rpm and it certainly a cracking looking piece of kit!

Joe who is a very active member of the Instagram plant operator community where he can be found as @joefoster220 describes his new mount as a bit of a beast but suggests that the cab is a bit on the tight side, often a problem with short radius machines.

We hope to be getting out to site to catch up with Joe and his new machine for an in-depth look, and some video footage in due course, but in the meantime take a look at this promotional video from CASE Construction which features an American customer and end user of the CX245SR.
