Organisers give first look at the new Plantworx show
PlantWorx 2027 shares first glimpse into the new version of the show now based at the NEC Birmingham. Taking place from 22–24 June 2027, the show will combine indoor exhibition space with extensive outdoor areas, including dedicated space for heavy construction machinery to work.
Although the move represents a significant change for the show, organisers are adamant to ensure that outdoor working and demonstrations are still on the menu.
For 2027, the show will also take place alongside InstallerSHOW, Professional Woodworking Expo and the Painting & Decorating Show, bringing four complementary events together at the NEC.
According to organiser, Nineteen Events, visitors will be able to see machinery working across outdoor areas, with demonstrations running from stands throughout the three days. Another new addition for 2027 is the PlantWorx Live Showcase, a dedicated outdoor demonstration area where exhibitors will have an additional platform to put machinery, attachments, equipment and technology through their paces in front of a live audience. The Live Showcase is reportedly intended to complement, rather than replace, demonstrations taking place on individual stands, providing a central programme of scheduled demonstrations alongside the wider working machinery displays. Further details on the feature, including exhibitor participation, are due to be announced in the coming weeks.
PlantWorx 2027 will also feature three dedicated content areas: the PlantWorx Main Stage, Technical Theatre and Future of Plant Theatre. The Main Stage will focus on the major issues facing construction equipment owners, operators, contractors and the wider industry, while the Technical Theatre will cover practical and operational challenges, with specialist knowledge and real-world experience at its core. The Future of Plant Theatre will look at the technologies, skills and developments influencing the way machinery is designed, powered, operated and managed.
The PlantWorx team is also working with a growing number of industry associations, organisations and partners on additional features and initiatives for 2027. These include the CEA, CPA and HAE, with further partnership announcements expected in the coming months. Skills development and attracting the next generation into construction and plant will also remain part of the show's agenda, alongside the machinery, technology and changing working practices shaping the sector.
Exhibitor commitments already include Hyundai, Wacker Neuson, Dieci, Develon, Zoomlion, SANY, Sunward, Manitou, Magni Telehandlers, Hydrema, Hidromek and AUSA already signed up. They will be joined by equipment, attachment, technology and service suppliers, with further major OEMs having already reserved space ahead of additional announcements.
