Postcards from Agritechnica

We didn’t attend the show personally but we do have friends all over the place, and in this instance, it was Melissa Bundy, formerly of Rocket Rentals, but who now works for Gloucestershire based AP Air, a leading supplier of agricultural & construction air-conditioning parts.

Melissa was attending the show as part of the AP Air stand crew, but she very kindly offered to send us a few shots of equipment for this post.

First up and a visit to the Kubota stand where Melissa spotted an example of the manufacturers extremely popular 2.7 tonne mini excavator offering the KX027-4, sporting a German manufactured DMS grab.

Bobcat had a large presence at the show and featured a number of its crossover products suitable for construction and agricultural applications, among them the latest T86 tracked compact loader, which was fitted with Bobcat’s own mulching flail head attachment.

Also on the Bobcat stand was the recently launched top of the range L95 compact wheeled loader, which I reported on in the September edition of Earthmovers Magazine, after we were given an exclusive preview of the new machine during a visit to the companies Dobris facility in the Czech Republic earlier in the year.

Compact telehandlers are becoming increasingly popular across both industries and Italian manufacturer Dieci brought along their Mini Agri 20.4 Smart model.

This machine is Dieci’s smallest telehandler and is powered by a 3-cylinder Stage V emissions compliant Kubota diesel engine producing 37kw (50hp), powering a single-range hydro drive transmission and 93-litre per minute gear pump hydraulics, lift capacity is 2-tonnes to a height of 4.35m.

German manufacturer Weycor owned by Atlas Weyhausen, presented 3 models of wheeled loading shovels from their range. The AR 380 was displayed with a bale fork while the AR 480 was displayed with a manure fork with a hydraulic hold-down device. Topping off the display was the AR 660, a wheel loader equipped with wide agricultural tyres and a fold-out 6-metre-wide green fork.

As we have come to expect, JCB had a dynamic stand featuring a wide range of their Agri specific kit, topping the bill was the impressive JCB 457S. With an operating weight of 20t, the 457S, is the largest wheeled loader in the firm’s purpose-built agricultural range. With a max lift height of 4.8m, there are two engine options: dual power 224hp (167kW) and 282hp (210kW). The gearbox is a new six-speed manual/auto version.

Checkout this video from our friends at JCB to see some of the kit they were showcasing.

The Digger Man Blog would like to than Melissa for taking time out of her busy schedule to grab some shots for us.
