Ritchie Bros opens a storage yard in Ireland
Ritchie Bros has opened its first storage yard in Ireland, located in Mullingar, County Westmeath. This strategic initiative offers Irish sellers convenient, local consignment options while providing access to Ritchie Bros.’ extensive global network of buyers.
Located in Business Park, Zone C, N91 EC3F, the Mullingar yard is now open for equipment drop-offs. This facility offers sellers a convenient local point of access while tapping into Ritchie Bros.’ global network—enabling them to consign equipment close to home and connect with buyers worldwide through our international auctions.
Assets stored in Mullingar will be included in major auction events, held in conjunction with Ritchie Bros.’ UK site in Maltby, without the need for costly cross-border transportation.
By reducing transportation distances, this Irish yard also contributes to Ritchie Bros.’ wider sustainability efforts, helping to lower CO₂ emissions.
“The opening of our Mullingar yard marks an important step in streamlining logistics and enhancing support for our Irish customers. Strategically located just one hour from Dublin and an hour and a half from Galway, the facility makes it easier and more cost-effective for sellers to tap into our global marketplace—while ensuring a smooth, efficient journey from yard to auction,” says Shane Eshuis, Vice President Operations at Ritchie Bros.
Ritchie Bros. manages the entire sales process—from valuation, listing, and marketing to secure payment. Sellers benefit from a streamlined, hassle-free experience, with proceeds paid within 21 days of auction.
“With our storage yard in Mullingar and Ritchie Bros.’ decades of expertise in the used equipment market, we’re well equipped to support Irish businesses across the construction, agriculture, and transport sectors. By combining local convenience with global reach, we help sellers move equipment faster and achieve the best possible returns—through a simple, reliable process. We’re providing a direct path to global demand, backed by the trusted Ritchie Bros. selling experience,” highlights Duncan Ainscough, Head of Sales at Ritchie Bros.
The Mullingar yard will be supported by two Territory Managers with in-depth industry knowledge: Tom Walsh, with 22 years of experience at Ritchie Bros., manages Northern Ireland and the North, leveraging his global expertise in equipment sales across markets such as the United States, Canada, and Australia; and Brien Daly, who recently joined the team, brings solid experience in the rental and auction industries for more than 20 years along with valuable market insight and a strong network within Ireland. He will oversee the South and West of the country, focusing on supporting local sellers and expanding Ritchie Bros.’ presence in the domestic market.
