RM Contractors drive innovation with Leica GPS Machine Control investment in partnership with Hitachi Connected Technology
RM Contractors have recently invested in ten Hitachi ZX130LCN-7B’s and four ZX210LC-7’s, whilst also adopting the Leica GPS machine control on part of their new fleet. This investment underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and precision in construction, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards while strengthening its position as a forward-thinking leader in the industry.
RM Contractors is a Groundworks and Civil Engineering business with Headquarters in Worcestershire and regional offices in Oxfordshire and Leicestershire. Established in 1994 as a family business, over the past 30 years they have grown to be one of the leading Groundworks companies within the Midlands and the Home Counties. They primarily operate in the residential market for the UK’s top house builders and can deliver a range of services from groundworks to infrastructure.
Tom Scarborough, Head of Technical, Engineering & QA at RM Contractors commented, “We have watched the industry implement GPS solutions, and earlier this year we purchased four machines including base and cab kits. Following our own internal trial and review period we decided to purchase a further 14 machines with base kits, and four with cab kits. We have found that using Leica GPS systems, it saves our engineers time and increases our site efficiency. This can be seen through material management and site output. We are looking forward to continuing our investment over the next few years as we look to expand our fleet further”.
