Screencore Dual-Power stackers

The Screencore range of tracked and wheeled stockpilers has been designed to boost operational productivity working alongside Screencore’s and other manufacturers ranges of shredders, screens and trommels or as standalone direct-load stackers. The range is available in a variety of sizes, encompassing features making them ideal for landscaping and organic material handling applications due to the Screencore purpose designed mulch hopper and high-speed auger.

Screencore has for some time produced a range of static, tracked and wheeled stackers which can be tailored for specific applications. The stockpilers are designed to be transportable and durable, and offer features such as twin drives, check valves and a variety of hopper feeders. These have been specifically developed to help construction, quarrying and surface mining operations, delivering a solution to handle bulk materials on any site. In addition to their leading features, the stackers are ideal for a variety of organic material handling applications due to the Screencore developed mulch agitator hopper and unique high-speed auger.

Screencore 470
A leading stacker that has proved its worth dealing with organic material is the Screencore 470. This is a heavy-duty belt feed hopper which can be customised with a 50′, 60′, 70′ or 80′ (15m, 18m, 21m or 24m) discharge conveyor. The unit is available in diesel or Dual-Power configuration to suit modern needs and can also be configured as a mulch unit with chevrons, agitator and mulch hopper. It further comes with multifunctional radio remote for total control. As with all Screencore stockpilers, the 470 is designed for easy container shipping or road transportation with hydraulic folding and no removal of parts necessitated. In addition, as with all Screencore stockpilers, hopper extensions are available.

The 470 has been specifically designed to stockpile materials such as mulch, biomass, woodchips, shredded pallets, wood pellet, green waste, palm kernel shells etc. It can be directly fed by wheel loaders, grab cranes, wood grinders, shredders, screeners or trommels. Its features maximise the hopper opening to allow material to flow unrestricted onto the chevron incline conveyor and both conveyors are fitted with twin drives. The Screencore mulch agitator aerates and untangles difficult materials and regulates the flow onto the incline conveyor. The unit has excellent mobility on site and will eliminate double handling of material, which reduces overall costs for the operator.

Screencore 480
The Screencore 480, 80′ tracked stacker is a powerhouse which comes with 48” wide belt powered by twin drive motors. The ’boomerang’ rear lift gives great versatility when loading without sacrificing discharge height, whilst the mulch version is fitted with a unique high-speed auger and incorporates a large dump-hopper for loader feeding.

The 480 is designed to stockpile materials such as mulch, biomass, woodchips, shredded pallets, wood pellet, green waste, palm kernel shells etc. It can be directly fed by wheel loaders, grab cranes, wood grinders, shredders, screeners or trommels.

The inline rotating auger in the feed boot ensures that huge volumes of material can be loaded without the risk of bridging. The auger fulfils two roles: it conditions material by flipping and rotation allowing the material to separate, aerate and untangle as well regulating the flow of material and preventing material bridging at the loading point. The unit has excellent mobility on site and will eliminate double handling of material, which reduces overall costs for the operator. The 480 is also available with a tracked radial version – the 480R - and in 100” length with the 4100.

Specialised features
What makes the Screencore stackers ideal for dealing with organic material are some specifically designed features.  These are the mulch hopper and high speed auger. The mulch hopper is a belt feed hopper with straight side walls, 48" feed belt, twin drive and a high-speed agitator across the belt (perpendicular to it). The mulch hopper then feeds to a 48” wide discharge conveyor of variable length.

The mulch auger is fitted in the ‘dump-hopper’ of an 80’ stacker and is a high-speed auger in-line with the conveyor. This aids material flow and allows for dump-feeding or loading with a high volume grinder, e.g. 480, 480R or 4100.

Dual-Power solution
Screencore’s existing range of stockpilers come with power solutions to suit various customer requirements. Now however, Screencore has added to its flexible cost-effective environmentally friendly range as both the 470 and 480 stockpilers come with an electric motor and can be run attached to a screen or trommel, with power being supplied by the screener itself.

This means that the screening and stockpiling operation is significantly less expensive and more environmentally friendly as only one power source is being used. Furthermore, if the screen is powered from the mains or a gen-set, or is electric powered, then emissions are negligible and operating costs are a fraction of a traditional set-up.

Dual-Power is an option on all Screencore units and in addition to these tracked models, Screencore has an extensive range of wheeled stockpilers that are available in diesel, electric or hydraulic versions. These can be tailored to suit virtually any material handling application.
