Select Plant Hire places £5 million JCB order
Select Plant Hire has invested £5 million in new JCB equipment as it continues a long-standing relationship with the manufacturer and prepares to support major UK construction and infrastructure projects.
Part of the Laing O’Rourke Group, Select Plant Hire provides plant, equipment and accommodation services to major building, infrastructure and engineering projects across the UK.
Supplied by Greenshields JCB, the latest order includes JCB 370X tracked excavators, 245XR and 145XR reduced tailswing excavators, 9T dual-drive site dumpers and Loadall telescopic handlers.
The machines will be used across a range of construction applications, adding to Select Plant Hire’s modern fleet and providing the productivity, reliability and safety required on large-scale projects.

The X Series excavators have been selected for their combination of productivity, operator comfort, fuel efficiency and durability, while the site dumpers and Loadalls provide additional versatility across Select Plant Hire’s fleet.
The latest investment adds to the long-standing relationship between Select Plant Hire, Greenshields JCB and JCB, with the three companies continuing to work together to provide equipment and support for major UK construction schemes.
