Shannonside invests in Thwaites dumpers

Worcestershire-based civil engineering contractor Shannonside has expanded its fleet with the addition of 11 Thwaites dumpers, supplied by distributor BTE Plant Sales.

The order comprises eight 6-tonne forward tip ROPS+ models and three 3-tonne forward tip dumpers, further strengthening a fleet that Managing Director Brendan Carty describes as "99% Thwaites".

"Our honest belief is that Thwaites dumpers are the best in the business. We bought Thwaites when we started the business in 2014 and continue to buy today. I believe that if you look after and maintain a Thwaites dumper it will last you a lifetime," said Carty.

The 6-tonne ROPS+ dumper features an enhanced operator protection system, including a wraparound steel frame, folding roll bar and Thwaites' 'triple lock' safety system. The machine will only drive once the operator is seated, the seatbelt is fastened and the overhead bar is locked into position.

Commenting on the current market, Carty added:

"In uncertain times I believe that money is well spent with trusted brands such as Thwaites, who sit at the very top of the dumper market."

The investment follows the recent launch of Thwaites' new 9-tonne ROPS+ dumper, extending the manufacturer's range of operator safety-focused machines.
