SITECH responds to rapid technology adoption
SITECH UK & Ireland has invited customers looking to adopt digital tools to a specialist technology day, held at its new training academy in Norton Canes
According to the NBS digital construction report, the construction sector is seeing a profound transformation marked by its rapid adoption of technology and a growing confidence that digitisation is now an essential tool for efficiency and sustainability.
In response to this, the new centre is designed to make skills development a priority by offering a variety of internal and external training options, ensuring the sector is fully equipped to meet the rising demand in UK construction projects and the constant evolution of technology.
The first event to be held at the new academy saw advocates for Trimble technology and existing SITECH customers, IPDS Group and Galtec come together to greet existing and potential SITECH customers looking to adopt technology to improve their productivity, efficiency and safety onsite.
Danielle Barker, Strategic Accounts Manager at SITECH UK & Ireland, said: ““In the Groundworks and Civil markets it has taken longer than some other areas to adopt construction technologies, but the uptake is now gaining momentum and technology is fast becoming an essential part of the industry’s tool kit, thanks to host of benefits it brings, including enhancing efficiencies, increasing safety and reducing material waste.”
Attendees at the tech day were given access to talks and demonstrations, allowing them to explore how the Trimble® Field-to-Finish Workflow can help streamline onsite operations by converting raw field survey data from total stations, drones and GNSS receivers into high-quality CAD deliverables.
Customers not only had the chance to learn about technology from the team at SITECH, but also to hear first-hand from existing customers how technology has transformed their operations.
Lisa Cheshire, Technical Sales Consultant – Eastern Region at SITECH UK & Ireland, said: “IPDS’s journey with digital construction technology exemplifies how embracing technology can transform operations. In just 12 months, they have gone from their first machine control system to implementing a comprehensive digital workflow. The combination of Trimble Earthworks, our site positioning systems and office software has enabled them to take on more complex projects and compete effectively with larger contractors.
“Having long-standing Trimble advocates, IPDS and Galtec at the recent tech day was a huge benefit to customers who are looking to adopt technology, as they gave them real-life examples of the benefits it can bring to different job sites and applications. We think the opportunity to ask questions and discuss our products with experts and colleagues is highly valuable for those looking to adopt technology to revolutionise their business long term.”
