Tiger Plant Hire invests in cutting-edge telematics

Tiger Plant Hire is pushing boundaries in construction fleet innovation with a strategic investment in expanding their excavator lineup. With an existing fleet of over 150 machines ranging from excavators, roller, telehandler and dumpers, the company has introduced new Kubota U50 and KX085 excavators. The new additions will arrive at Tiger’s Swindon depot fully equipped with PVS Data’s state-of-the-art B1 telematics units and keypad immobilisers—solidifying their commitment to efficiency, transparency, and customer-centric solutions as well as heightening their security on site.

This latest move reinforces Tiger Plant Hire’s dedication to providing customers with the best equipment and technology available in the market. By integrating PVS Data’s B1 telematics units into their expanding fleet, the company ensures unparalleled machine performance insights, operational efficiency, and enhanced security for both them and their customers.

With the addition of keypad immobilisers, Tiger Plant Hire and their customers are in complete control when it comes to operator usage. The additional security that comes from the keypad immobilisers allows owners and customers to change keypad combinations remotely, view tried and tested combinations and set exact times for machines (being turned on and off) to be locked down.

The B1 telematics units empower Tiger Plant Hire’s customers with real-time data on machine engine hours, battery levels, and machine locations to a 3m x 3m point. This includes:

• Improved Machine Uptime – Predictive maintenance and service hour intervals minimise unexpected downtime. Tiger Plant Hire’s customers receive true value for money with accurately scheduled maintenance at times convenient to them

• Enhanced Security – GPS tracking and anti-theft features safeguard assets, providing peace of mind and reduced risk of theft on site

• Operational Efficiency – With the parameters coming in from the B1 devices, Tiger Plant Hire gains visibility into equipment utilisation, helping them maximise productivity and reduce costs in both the long and short term

• Geofencing Capabilities – Tiger Plant Hire’s customers can benefit from the innovative Geofence creator within PVS Data’s platform. Create a custom geofence and generate alerts for machines that breach the fence

Tiger Plant Hire’s Managing Director Shane Sherbourne commented: "Investing in Kubota and PVS Data’s telematics is an investment in our customers. We want to provide them with not just quality machinery, but the insights and tools to get the most out of every machine on their site. These innovations bring smarter hiring solutions, allowing for more informed decision-making and a seamless operational experience."
Driving the Future of Plant Hire.

By harnessing the power of telematics and investing in Kubota’s latest range of excavators, Tiger Plant Hire is reshaping industry standards, proving that hiring equipment isn’t just about availability, but also intelligence and efficiency. With data-driven insights at their fingertips, customers can optimise workflows, improve project planning, and boost overall site productivity.

The investment in Kubota excavators with PVS Data’s B1 telematics further positions Tiger Plant Hire as a forward-thinking leader in the plant hire sector. As the industry continues to evolve, the company remains steadfast in its mission: delivering smarter, safer, and more efficient solutions for the modern construction landscape.
