WHC Services ‘39 Steps’ multi dumper deal.

Tewkesbury based hirer WHC Hire Services has ordered 39 new Thwaites dumpers via Distributor Lister Wilder.

The deal features a variety of models that will offer choice and deliver value to WHC customers across Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire.

Comprising 18 x 1-tonne Hi-Tip, 4 x 2.3-tonne Power Swivel, 5 x 3-tonne Power Swivel the deal is concluded with 4 x 6-tonne ROPS+ Power Swivel dumpers and the ‘new this summer’, 8 x 9-tonne Straight Tip ROPS+.

The inclusion of the 9-tonne ROPS+ ensures WHC Services are one of the first hirers in the UK to take delivery of these new machines, having successfully operated the 6-tonne ROPS+ machines since its launch in early 2025.

ROPS+ offers protection to the operator with its wrap around steel frame; pull down roll bar and triple lock motion inhibiter, the machine will start but not drive until the operator is 1) Sat on seat – 2) The seat belt is fastened - 3) The overhead bar is locked in place. Thwaites have ensured smart mechanisms are in place to stop any workarounds.

WHC Services Owner James Clutterbuck said, “We have a long and successful relationship with Thwaites, we appreciate the quality and robustness of the engineering, and our customers appreciate the reliability of working with the best dumper on the market.”

Speaking about the ROPS+ Machines James continued…” We were an early adopter of the 6-tonne ROPS+, the design is simple, yet smart. When we offered it to our customers they agreed, so we took some more. The launch of the 9-tonne model we feel will be equally as successful, hence again, we are pleased to be one of the first in the UK to adopt these initial eight machines into our fleet”.

The deal was facilitated by Lister Wilder, Area Sales Manager, Richard North, who said “I would like to thank James and WHC for their continued loyalty, both of whom are a pleasure to deal with. WHC always recognise, I am pleased to say, the value of quality and understand the true cost of ownership of construction equipment.”

Concluding Thwaites Distributor Manager Paul Rodwell commented, “This 39-machine dumper deal further increases the Thwaites stock holding in WHC, acting as a statement of intent from the business about the construction market in the region for the rest of the year”.
