A day getting socially engaged at JCB

More and more construction equipment manufacturers are becoming aware of the importance of engaging with high profile social media users. The recent trailblazing event held by Liebherr  at Bauma was the first of its kind and just last week JCB held a similar event at its World HQ in Staffordshire.

A day getting socially engaged at JCB
The informal event proved to be an excellent way for JCB to connect with some members of the press and owner/operators who all have a very high profile online via Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram just to name a few, amongst this exclusive group were well known names such as Mark Anthony (Diggers & Dozers), Paul Argent, Shaun Gratton, Eddie Warrener, Kieron Cranstone, Scott Hastings and the latest name to hit the circus that is social media, Pete (Duck) Pearce (seen below) who is a potential buyer and was keen to get to grips with the Hydradig after many weeks of being pretty vocal about it online! DSC_0608 Well known and highly respected owner operator & tilt-rotator aficionado Eddie Warrener, was also keen to get hands on with a Hydradig and really put one to the test at JCB’s demonstration arena. Eddie is known for his highly modified machines which he specifies for his type of specialist work in the Staffordshire Moorlands area. After his experience on the new machine Eddie took to Twitter to express his feelings saying; Sum up the @JCBmachines Hydradig for me, there is no hype, it's real, I've experienced it and it delivers more than even I could have hoped! DSC_0604 Eddie also described the Hydradig in the same way that many others who have experienced it have by commenting that the Hydradig is a real game changer! Eddies good friend Shaun Gratton was equally as complimentary saying, “The Hydradig really is something else” I know both these guys and I must say it would not surprise me to hear that at some point in the future, they choose to go down the Hydradig route and of course we can expect something very special from any machine that Eddie specs up, one to look out for I think! DSC_0601 In the afternoon focus turned to the latest tracked excavators with a visit to the JCB Quarry where we were to find examples of the new JCB JS131LC a conventional swing 13 tonne class excavator and the 14 tonne class zero tailswing JZ140LC which has been re-entered into the product range. DSC_0612 I will be taking a more in depth look at these new JCB tracked excavators in forthcoming articles in Earthmovers Magazine. DSC_0621 As the way we view media continues to change I think we are going to see a lot more of these kind of events being held by the major manufacturers. By doing their homework on the people involved and their interest in the products, it’s a great way to engage with keen individuals who are at “coal face” day in and day out and who are capable of giving great feedback about the machines and today's modern attachments and working practices.
