Ageing Cat D9G putting in a shift

We love a Cat D9G post here on the Digger Man Blog so here goes with another one featuring a video of a tidy looking “old girl” in action.

For many of us of a certain age there is no more iconic dozer than the Cat D9G, when I was growing up it was the largest production dozer in the world and of course the star of the cheesy TV movie Killdozer. But they were a machine loved by old school dozer operators too, a well built and powerful machine that would just keep dozing! The machine featured in this video filmed by Tom Kagerbauer on a construction site in Austria recently, was built in 1973 and is still more than capable of doing a good days work some 43 years later. Another incredible fact about this is the fact that the operator is old school too at the age of 73 he is still happiest at the controls of his D9G!
