Baby Cat was the star attraction at charity event

Last year Finning UK supported the very worthwhile Lighthouse Club charity by donating one of their machines for an auction.

On 14th November 2014 the Lighthouse Club Charity Yorkshire branch held its annual dinner at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds, which was attended by over 250 guests from the construction industry in the region.  A Caterpillar 300-9D micro mini excavator was the star attraction in an auction held to raise money for the charity. The machine had been donated by Finning UK and was purchased in the auction, which was professionally conducted by Colin Crossland & John Roebuck of Watts Associates Auctioneers Ltd, by Ronnie Harrod of the aptly named Cat Plant, who are based in Barnsley. The machine raised a fantastic £13,000 on the night for the fantastic charity, which helps construction workers and their families in times of need after an accident, illness or bereavement. Talking about the event Iain Carpenter, General Manager of Central East region of Finning UK said, “The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is a great cause and when they asked for our help to supply them an auction prize we did not hesitate. We are extremely happy that the micro digger was bought close to its retail price and that all the funds raised will be going to help support those that are in greatest need within our industry.”
