British Army Cat’s

With military matters in most people thoughts this week, I thought it would also be a good opportunity to take a look back at one of our editors video’s, taken on an Earthmovers site visit to the Caterpillar Visitors centre in Desford back in 2010.

Graham Black was attending this event at the Leicester based factory where heavily armoured Cat wheeled loading shovels were being demonstrated. I reported on this in a blog post and can recall harrowing stories of how some soldiers had narrowly escaped death when some of the machines had been blown up by roadside bombs. It is a real credit to Finning UK & Ireland and the work that has been put into the armour on these machines to protect the young men and women at the controls.
