Cat up the creek without a paddle

While surfing the net recently I came across another bogged machine video, this time featuring a Caterpillar D6N dozer.

Photos and videos of machines bogged and in trouble have always been a popular feature on the blog over the years and I am delighted to post more in response to reader’s requests for more of this kind of material. In this video we see the result of an operator attempting to cross Crow Creek in Marshall County Illinois. As is often the case when crossing rivers or streams, you can never be certain about the underlying conditions and in this instance the operator of the Cat D6N has dropped into a hole in the bed of the creek. However, the guy does not panic and manages to get himself out of a tricky situation on his own.  Some may say he should not have been in there in the first place, well hindsight is a wonderful thing, but most importantly he got himself out safely and with no damage to the machine.
