Cat's baby micro “Bigs” it up in the quarry

Regular readers may recall the blog we posted recently about the Cat micro excavator that was auctioned off at a Lighthouse Club event in Yorkshire, well we have now received the photos of it being delivered to site.

The baby Caterpillar 300-9D machine, which was donated by Finning UK and purchased during the charity auction by Ronnie Harrod of CatPlant, finally got to meets its big brothers and sisters at Ronnie’s quarry in Doncaster where it quickly got up close and personal with a 65 tonne class Cat 365 hydraulic excavator. Ronnie is seen here (left) at the handover with Alan Wright (right) who is Branch Chairman for the Lighthouse Club in Yorkshire. It’s unclear as to what role the micro excavator will have at the quarry or if it will join the hire fleet, one thing is for sure, it will be a very handy and useful addition to the business and of course it’s made a lot of money for charity too, which can only be a good thing.
