Crazy Driver Ends up Arrested

Using a machine in a dangerous and potentially life-threatening manner eventually led to the arrest and a fine for the Turkish guy at the controls of this JCB backhoe loader.

A version of this clip has been doing the circuit of the various plant and machinery social media channels, so I figured I would post it here on the Digger Man Blog too.

Crazy Driver Ends up Arrested

Work was being carried out to replace fibre optic cables underground in Avcilar, a district in the city of Istanbul. The guys doing the work thought it would be a good idea to pull the old cables out of the ground using a wire strop attached to the front bucket of the backhoe loader.

After a number of failed attempts to extract the cable from the ground it was quite clear this tactic was never going to succeed and the driver became ever more aggressive in his approach, raising the rear end of the machine right up into the air and balancing on its two front tyres, seriously crazy behaviour as traffic and pedestrians passed by within feet of the machine.

Eventually the local Police Traffic Department arrived on the scene and arrested the driver Mr Ahmet Turan Ç. His licence was temporarily confiscated and he was fined a paltry 108 Turkish Lira around £10.74 GBP!

The Digger Man Blog does not advise trying this one on sites anytime soon!
