Digger Man Blog gets 'hand's on' with fluid sampling

Ahead of the upcoming Cat Auction Services and IronPlanet auction on 18th October at Rockingham I take a look at fluid sampling.

I recently visited Finning’s Leeds branch to speak to Used Equipment Specialist, Bev Walker. Ahead of the IronPlanet and Cat Auction Services’ auction (18th October 2016), I wanted to understand more about the fluid sampling process, and what goes into the used equipment service reports you’ll find at the auction.

Bev and I took several fluid samples, including engine oil and hydraulic fluid, from a used Cat 966K. On top of the IronClad guarantee, which is a ’stamp of approval’ from IronPlanet, each piece of machinery will be checked and sampled by Finning, ready for the auction.
