Digger’s weekly social media round up #19

Taking a look back now at some of the highlights of the Digger Man Blogs social media activity and interaction with our readers and members from the past week.

Digger’s weekly social media round up #19
Blog reader and contributor Harri Scfc Davies posted a collection of photos he took during a visit to this year’s Welland Steam Fair event. Including this great shot of what looks like a Cat D6C powering up in reverse gear on the demo plot. If you missed this thread why not catch up with it here. 15036331_1469010239781813_89005666057821328_n Mini excavators eh, they said they would never last. Check out this old girl posted on our Facebook page by Brian Young. The shot features a Kubota KH35 machine which was built in 1987 and is still working in Oban, Scotland almost 30 years later. A great advert for the longevity of the Kubota product! Check out the post here. 15027821_1602789856526269_7716663307712069733_n Joshua McKay from Victoria in Australia one of our growing band of Australian readers, posed the question, what does everyone think of the Cat 312E? Likes and Dislikes? If you have spent time on one of them why not join the conversation as offer your views on them by clicking on this link. 15056473_1852797164957821_6582573395429438860_n With the newspapers, well the Daily Express as usual predicting the coldest UK winter in years, we got a glimpse of normal winter weather in this shot posted by Stevie Motherwell featuring his Hitachi ZX130-5 on a snowy Scottish morning this week. A sign of things to come maybe and a reminder to crank up the heater during those cold morning engine warm up periods on site. Check out the shot here. 14956393_10155419770081808_5727934873688580056_n Another Australian reader Martyn Matenga posted a grainy old period photo of some kit at work and posed the question “Guess what excavator this is lads?” It prompted a flurry of guesses from readers and I think the answer has now been revealed, either way it’s well worth a look as the excavator in question is a bit of a rare one. Check it out here. 14963157_10154207708817123_5386068546531236682_n Just when you thought glamour models draped over vehicles was something consigned to 1970’s Motor Shows we get a series of photos posted like these from our pal Grant Linton. The Terex backhoe loader pics proved popular with “the lads” though! Why not check out the thread here. 15027530_200919737020498_7917167279107536948_n Finally in this weeks round up we must give a special mention to one half of Staffordshires most famous digger related social media stars in the form of Shaun Gratton. img_1670 Shaun took on the starring role as operator in JCB's stunning cinematic style Halloween video, which saw long term tilt-rotator adopter Shaun using a Steelwrist, complete with knife attachment fitted on a JCB wheeled excavator to carve up a pumpkin, if you haven't seen this clip I advise you to watch it now, its going to be a classic!
That's it for this week, have a great weekend and we will see you back on the Digger Man Blog next week.
