Digger’s weekly social media round up #5

Time for our regular Friday look back at some of the topic highlights from the past week on our social media platforms.

Digger’s weekly social media round up #5
Last Tuesday we saw a post which attracted over 70 replies from readers who were, lets just say a tad surprised by member Nathan Elfleet’s description of the usually much loved Kubota KX057-4 which he had been using on site. Some may say this was just one of those looking for a reaction posts, but if you have something to say about the machines why not join the discussion here. DSC_0572 Breaking news on the Digger Man Blog Facebook page this week as Phil Stock posted telling us that the very first Liebherr PR 716 dozer has arrived in the UK and is heading for Shane David Civils in Somerset. Launched at Bauma where it appeared alongside the giant PR 776, this D6K sized machine features a folding six way blade and if Leica ready. Earthmovers will be visiting the machine on site for a full report in the coming weeks. Check out the post here. 13912672_1133374970067427_6949627565081126519_n It’s often said that it’s a dog’s life being a plant operator, well earlier this week blog member Callum Mckie posted a photo of his cocker spaniel sat in his Volvo mini excavator under the heading, “I pledge allegiance to the plant operator’s fraternity". Do you have any photos of man’s best friend sat in your digger, why not check out the thread and post your pooch pics. 13895179_10153715836910686_3390719974482659781_n Top plant man, staunch Digger Man Blog supporter and all round good egg Lionel Whitnell, posted on the arrival of an elderly Volvo 861 articulated hauler which he has purchased with a view to restoring and possibly converting into another fuel bowser. This interesting post brought back memories for many of our members who had spent time on trucks like these in their hay day. We will be keeping a close eye on this restoration and hopefully bring the full story on it to the pages of Earthmovers in the future. If you missed this post, catch up with it here. 13895164_10209849761190890_7683395218049680434_n Finally this week, Hidromek machines have been breaking cover across the UK with a series of demonstrator models being tried out by keen potential customers. A backhoe loader has been doing the rounds down in Cornwall this week and both Sophie Taylor and Kim Rose from the Southern dealership TJC Plant Sales have been posting about the positive feedback they have been getting about the Turkish manufactured machines. Check out one of the threads here.  13900151_10153918428864141_2211221333268147180_n Have a great weekend guys and girls and if you are working happy digging and stay safe, see you back on the blog on Monday.
