Digger’s weekly social media round up #8

Taking a look back now at some of the highlights of the Digger Man Blogs social media activity and interaction with our readers and members from the past week.

Digger’s weekly social media round up #8
JCB’s revolutionary Hydradig remains a hot topic on the Digger Man Blog Facebook page, especially Will Smith Cairns example which he operates for Blackwood in Scotland. Earlier this week Will posted a large batch of photos of his machine which prompted a fair bit of reader input from the many that are interested in this new product from the Staffordshire based manufacturer. One of the highlights for me was this shot of what I believe was one of the first Caterpillar D10’s in the country which was owned and operated by Thompson’s of Prudoe. Check out this batch of classic photos by clicking on this link.  14047277_10210159900334729_7364441250324570953_o One of our Australian readers Martin Grant, who lives in Sydney, gets access to some amazing job sites and is a brilliant photographer too. Over the years Martin has posted some stunning shots of machines being craned into basements and even giant dozers ripping rock in residential areas of the city. Martin kindly re-posted some shots of Cat side-booms in action helping to rescue a railway tanker which had become de-railed somewhere in the city, not something you would see very often for sure! If you have not seen them before they are well worth a look here. 14034931_10209429995041786_8772474220314412498_n Tristan Dorey who works for Doosan dealership Promac posted a photo of a brand new Doosan DX235LCR-5 compact radius excavator being prepped ahead of delivery to a customer in London. This proved to be a popular topic and you can join the debate too, by clicking on this link. 14102361_10210765744480932_2762981312043252469_n Finally this week, a bit of a puzzling shot from our American reader and keen contributor Joe Yip who lives in Massachusetts. Joe posted this shot of an elderly Komatsu PC240LC machine lying unloved in a field in Sothern Iceland which features the paintwork colour of a Dash-3 model, however on closer inspection of the rusting old machine we notice that the cab is almost certainly from a Dash-5 model, what do you think? So a big thank you from your admin team Graham, Gary and myself for your interest and more importantly your input which makes the page such a success! Have a great Bank Holiday weekend.
