Dumptruck ripped apart by dozer

A couple of mobile phone shots have been doing the rounds on the plant forum circuit recently and I thought they were worthy of a spot here on the Digger Man Blog.

Not a great deal of detail on the incident so it will be one of those posts where the photos speak a hundred words. It appears that in the incident which appears to have taken place somewhere in the Middle East, the dumptruck driver was probably travelling at high speed and has not spotted the Cat D10 dozer, ending up smashing into the machine with the inevitable consequences.

The resulting impact has ripped the front wheel right off, causing many thousands of pounds worth of damage to the stricken truck. Looking at the dumptruck cab though, it would appear that the driver had a lucky escape in what could possibly have been a fatal crash.

Another lesson to everyone to drive more carefully on the sites and in the mines out there.
