Face Off with Cat’s 395 FS

At Bauma earlier this year, American global construction machinery giant Caterpillar, presented the 395 Front Shovel (FS).

In today's blog post, we come face to face with the Cat 395 FS which has an operating weight of 96,300kg (212,300 lb) was launched at the triennial machinery fest that is Bauma in Munich as a new size class in the Caterpillar face shovel sector. The machine had previously only been available in standard backhoe configuration.

Powered by a Cat C18 Stage V emissions compliant engine, which has a power output rating of 542hp, the machine, according to Caterpillar, delivers powerful digging and fast truck-loading cycles for mining and quarrying applications and is capable of moving more tons per hour, whilst burning less fuel. This excavator features the same modern well appointed cab that we have seen on the Next Generation of Caterpillar excavators along with all the latest technology features.
