Fire Fighting with Compact Tracked Loaders
An interesting new follower popped up on our Instagram channel recently and I figured it would make for a good post here.
Our Digger Man Blog platform continues to be the best place for engagement anywhere on the internet, and we now have over 105k followers on the account. And, if you are not following us there, please come and give us a follow, it all helps, as its a war out there on the construction machinery social media sector these days!
One of our latest followers is American, California based business FYREBX who design and manufacture attachments for Compact Tracked Loaders that are aimed at fire-fighting applications, but also for agriculture and forestry.
The FYREBX T3 attachment for instance, can carry 1,135 litres (300 gallons) of water across rough terrain then deploy its load to fight fires in difficult to reach areas where larger fire fighting bulldozers might not be able to reach.

The powerful nozzles of the fire suppression system, can be deployed from inside the cab by the operator of the compact tracked loader. The attachment also features its own integrated bulldozer blade, to enable the fire fighting operator to bulldoze firebreaks to halt the spread of fires.

The larger FYREBX T5 has even more capacity, carrying a whopping 1,892 litres (500 gallons) of water or foam with the base machine being fitted with additional counterweights on the rear end of the machine.

The attachments are largely designed for Caterpillar CTL’s, but can be fitted to most manufacturers machines including Bobcat, Kubota, and Takeuchi to name a few.
Fortunately, I have never had the misfortune to be caught up in a wild fire situation, but on my recent holiday to Cyprus we took a drive up to the Troodos Mountains and witnessed large swathes of scorched and blackened hillsides that were burnt up in fires during the earlier summer, just the thought of it scares me to death, so massive respect to all these people who go to work fighting such fires!
