Flannery’s flying Cat excavator

Here’s a great photo that has been sent into the Digger Man Blog by Paul Humphreys,  a nationwide plant mechanic, who gets to see all kinds of action during his travels.

Flannery’s flying Cat excavator
Sadly there is very little detail about what it is happening here, but as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words! What we do know is that the Caterpillar 308DCR, eight tonne class midi excavator, which is from the massive Flannery Plant fleet, was about to be lowered into a shaft to perform some excavation work on a United Utilities job site around the Greater London area. I always love to see photos, of machines being craned into unusual places, or working on awkward sites, so if you have anything to share with me and your fellow blog readers, why not drop me an email through the editor’s address.
